Build a connector from an API's docs

Your system isn't on the list? Point Morph at its API docs, tick what you need, and test it live.

The comic

  1. Panel 1 of 4.

    Not on the list?

Murphy says: If your system has a REST API (a way for apps to talk to it), build a connector yourself. On “Integrations”, under “Your library”, choose “Build from API docs”.
  2. Panel 2 of 4.
Murphy says: Paste a link to the API's OpenAPI (Swagger) spec or Postman collection (files that describe an API), upload the file, or paste a few example requests. Choose “Read the docs”: it takes up to a minute.
  3. Panel 3 of 4.
Murphy says: Tick “What to read” and, if you like, “What to write”. Sign in with the API key or token it asks for. Anything the docs left unclear shows under “Please check”.
  4. Panel 4 of 4.
Murphy says: “Test and save” reads the first pages live, with your sign-in. If every read works, it's saved and joins your team's library, ready for anyone to connect with their own sign-in.

Building connectors, and connecting to them, is on Pro and above. REST APIs that sign in with an API key, a bearer token or a username and password work today; OAuth sign-in, GraphQL and SOAP don't yet.

Try it in Morph

  1. Point Morph at the API's docs and choose “Read the docs”.
  2. Tick “What to read” (and “What to write”), then sign in.
  3. Check anything under “Please check”, then “Test and save”.

You'll be asked to sign in first. The free plan needs no card.

Build a connector

Quick check

2 quick questions. No marks, no pressure: pick an answer and Murphy will tell you how you did.

1. Which docs can Morph build a connector from?
2. What happens when you choose “Test and save”?
