Data Analysis · Lesson 3 of 3

Fix what it found with a rule

Turn a finding into a rule: with Murphy step by step, or a draft rule you build yourself.

The comic

  1. Panel 1 of 4.

    From report to rule

Murphy says: Found a problem? “Fix this in a rule” on a finding, or “Explore data transformation” at the top, opens me, Murphy, with your report in front of me.
  2. Panel 2 of 4.
Murphy says: I'll ask “What do you need this data to do?”, like “Clean up this file” or “Load it into another system”. Then I suggest one step at a time.
  3. Panel 3 of 4.
Murphy says: Rather do it yourself? “Build it myself” makes a draft rule with the source already set up. A banner keeps the report close by.
  4. Panel 4 of 4.
Murphy says: When you run the rule, you pick the file again: Morph keeps the report, not your data. Then “Analyse output” checks the fix worked.

“Fix this in a rule” and “Explore data transformation” open Murphy, who is on the Starter plan and above. “Build it myself” works on every plan.
