Cleaning and mapping · Lesson 3 of 4

Mapping fields to a system

Tell Morph which of your columns fills which field in Xero, QuickBooks, HubSpot or another system. It suggests most of them for you.

The comic

  1. Panel 1 of 4.

    Meet the mapper

Murphy says: Writing to a system? On the output, open “Field mapping”. It shows the record your data will create. Click a value to change where it comes from.
  2. Panel 2 of 4.
Murphy says: Morph pre-fills what it can and marks each guess “Suggested”, with the reason: same name, same meaning, or “You mapped this the same way before”.
  3. Panel 3 of 4.
Murphy says: Check the suggestions, change any that are wrong, then “Save”. Morph remembers your corrections for next time.
  4. Panel 4 of 4.
Murphy says: Required fields have a red “*”. Fill each with a column, or type a fixed value. A needed field left empty stops the rule being activated.
